Kerry County Enterprise Board

 

Kerry County Enterprise Board (KCEB) supports two business networks in the Kingdom, both of which meet on a monthly basis.

The Kerry Enterprise Network aims to encourage and enable people in Kerry to succeed as an entrepreneur or business owner or in self-employment. The network is open to all current business owners or anyone who has a business idea or plans to become self-employed. Meetings are usually on the third Monday of the montha t 7.30 pm; the venue alternates between Killarney and Tralee.

At the network meetings, there is usually a presentation followed by time for meeting other members to share experiences, exchange business cards and meet new contacts. Recent topics have included how to plan your investment in IT, effective sales calls and a case study on marketing Murphy’s Ice Cream.

The Kerry Women in Business (KWIB) network was launched in October 2006 and has grown quickly with good attendance at the meetings on the first Thursday of the month (6.30 for 7 pm) at The Meadowlands Hotel in Tralee. Topics have ranged from building confidence and setting lifetime goals to time management, cash flow and financial management, personal finance for the self-employed and a presentation about “My Journey in Business” by Breeda Hurley of ABC Cleaning.

A Business Training Programme was launched in March 2008 with many subsidised training days for businesses in Kerry.
